Lisa Alvarez

Lisa Alvarez’s debut collection of stories, Some Final Beauty and Other Stories, was published last August by New Oeste, an imprint of the University of Nevada Press. She was the keynote speaker at the inaugural Laguna Beach Literary Festival in January, and was features at Lit Fest in the Dena, Bay Area Book Festival, Twentynine Palm Literary Festival, and others. Her book was selected by many local book clubs, including one hosted by journalist Gustavo Arellano.

Lisa has taught fiction for thirty-three years at Irvine Valley College and has co-directed the summer writing conference, the Community of Writers in Olympic Valley for over twenty-five years.
