The California Writers Club meets monthly for our featured speaker series focused on the craft and business of writing. Topics are presented by major authors, publishers, self-published writers, college professors, literary agents, and other professionals.

Author Candi Sary graduated from the University of California, Irvine. She has been in the finals of several writing competitions including the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award and the William Faulkner William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition. Her novel Black Crow White Lie won Reader Views Literary Award, a CIBA, and was First Runner-Up in the Eric Hoffer Book Award. It was made into a short film by Chase Michael Wilson. Her novel Magdalena (Regal House Publishing, 2023) also won a CIBA. She is also a board member of Friends of the Costa Mesa Libraries, and a proud steward of a Little Free Library.

As with all CWC author speakers, the genre is only part of the story. The author’s journey applies to every writer.
