is one of twenty-two branches in the state organization. CWC-OC is open to professional and aspiring writers and non-writing literary experts. At our monthly meetings, members have the opportunity to meet authors, agents, editors, and publishers, to network with fellow writers, and to learn about the craft and business of writing. We hold our monthly meetings on the first Saturday of the month at a vibrant, open air venue, the Anaheim Packing House. Come early to network with your fellow writers, stay for the informative and inspiring presentation, grab a bite to eat at one of the fantastic restaurants. Join us!
The Kelli Devan Edwards Memorial Writers Fund, founded in 2024 by the Edwards family, continues the spirit of generosity Kelli shared with others during her life and through her creative work.
This fund provides monetary support and encouragement to active branch members in good standing. Members may apply through the Member Portal for grants up to $200, to be used for writing-related endeavors, such as (but not limited to): (1) writing education, workshops, conferences, retreats, and training; (2) community outreach and teaching related to writing; (3) miscellaneous expenses to benefit and boost a writer’s growth; and (4) expenses related to self-publishing such as editing, book design, or production. Please note: because many members aspire to self-publish, and two or more might apply in the same time period, the Board of Directors will ask to see sample material from a work in progress if funds are being requested for this purpose. However, the fund is not intended for expenses such as book marketing or advertising, social media expenses, or any other book promotional costs.
Grants from the fund are ongoing and given at the discretion of the current Board of Directors.
We welcome tax-deductible contributions of any size.
